A staple shoe to have a part of a gentleman’s wardrobe is a great loafer.  Whether dressed up with a summer suit,  they can  be comfortably worn without socks.  Loafers can also be a representation of personality.  I suggest staying away from white loafers if this is your first pair.  For casual events, straight leg jeans with a fitted dress shirt will pull off a very personable, yet respectable look.  Don’t worry about finishing the look with a matching belt, a knit or rope belt that compliments the outfit will be best.
